Superb match of our excellent footballer Diego Sánchez Pérez (18/07/2003) in the victory of his team by 2-0 against Cádiz CF. The excellent defender from Asturias played a sensational match. He won all the defensive duels and left the attackers of the Cadiz team with hardly any options. He was very fast and expeditious when cutting, and with the ball he was very confident and solvent thanks to his excellent technical quality and his great left foot. The team from Gijón is placed in third position after this important victory, tied on points with the second placed team. Diego has played his ninth game of the season and has consolidated himself as a vital player for Real Sporting de Gijón’s backline. With only 21 years old, he is already in his third season in the first team and his performance is growing steadily. He can act as a central defender and as a left back, thus becoming a very versatile player, who performs wonderfully in both positions of the field. This is a player with a present and a bright future who, at his young age, has already played 53 games in the Second Division.
