Our outstanding soccer player Hugo Duro Perales (10/11/1999) was the star of the match in his team’s 4-2 victory over Real Betis Balompié. Before the start of the match, there was a beautiful and emotional tribute to all the victims and those affected by the hurricane in a community as hard hit as the Valencian Community. As we mentioned at the beginning of our article, our sensational center forward, Hugo Duro, was the star of the match. In the 8th minute of the match, after taking a corner kick from the right flank in a rehearsed play, the ball reached Hugo inside the area in a very forced position. The magnificent striker from Madrid was strong enough to protect the ball and pass it to his teammate César Tárrega, who scored the first goal of the match. Minutes later, Hugo was again the protagonist, although this time, in the action of the equalizer of the visiting team. The Bético team launched a free kick in the direction of the goal and, accidentally, Hugo combed the ball at the near post in his attempt to clear it. The ball went into the bottom corner of the net. An unfortunate action for Hugo that meant a 1-1 draw on the scoreboard, but that only motivated the striker from Madrid to look hard for his team’s victory. The first half ended with a 1-1 draw on the scoreboard and left everything open for what would be a thrilling second half. In the 50th minute, after an unsuccessful shot ricocheted fortuitously by the Real Betis defense, the ball took a very high parabola. The smartest of the class, Hugo Duro, arrived to acrobatically finish off a very complicated ball, putting his team ahead on the scoreboard. A great goal with a first touch with his left foot, after finishing a ball that came with a lot of effect and great height, in an action of great merit by the striker from Madrid. But Hugo’s great performance did not end there. Three minutes later, in the 53rd minute of the match, after a great through ball from Javi Guerra, Hugo was left alone in front of the goalkeeper. With great mastery, he drove the ball to the goalkeeper’s exit and, with his exquisite left foot, he shot the ball over the top, scoring an authentic goal. It was 3-1 on the scoreboard, and the Mestalla Stadium celebrated with jubilation this work of art by Hugo Duro. The match finally ended 4-2 in favor of the home team, which meant a very important victory for Valencia CF, even more so on a day of absolute tribute to so many people affected. Hugo again showed what a sensational striker he is, working tirelessly in defense and being absolutely differential in front of goal.
