Espanyol strengthens defense with Miguel Rubio
Our outstanding player Miguel Rubio Lestán (11/03/1998), after finishing his time in Granada CF, where he has been for the last three seasons, signs for RCD Espanyol for the next three seasons.
After playing 83 games in three years in Granada, 19 in the First Division and 64 in the Second Division, our sensational central defender from Madrid returns to the First Division. This time, by the hand of RCD Espanyol, which is firmly committed to the player.
Miguel made his professional soccer debut with Getafe CF in Primera División in the 2017/18 season. From there he moved to Fuenlabrada, in Second Division. He then signed for Real Valladolid, where he played for the Promesas team and also made 4 appearances in Primera División.
After his time in the Valladolid youth academy, he signed in the 2021/22 season for Burgos CF, where he shone in the Second Division. From there he moved to Granada CF, signing for three years.
In Granada he was again at a great level, achieving promotion to the First Division and always being a very important player.
After his great performance in the Nazarí team, now he has the opportunity to play in the First Division. This time in a historic of Spanish soccer as it is the RCD Espanyol.
His great performance in recent years has not gone unnoticed, and Barcelona have placed their trust in the excellent defender from Madrid.
Miguel is a large central defender; in fact, he is 1.91 m tall. Fast and powerful in the run despite his remarkable physique, he is a very dominant player in the air and stands out for his constant concentration in the game.
He has, in turn, a great ball exit, thanks to his excellent long ball movement and a very good short game vision. Thanks to his aggressiveness in offensive set pieces, he has scored 3 goals for his team this year.
At the age of 27, Miguel has a great opportunity that we are convinced he will not miss.
