Shining on the Pitch: Alex Sancris, José Luis Cortés, Rubén Torres, and Sergio Camacho.

Four standout names who shone with their teams this matchday

Four Mesas Sport footballers are in the spotlight again this week. Álex Sancris provided an assist for Leganés, José Luis Cortés and Rubén Torres scored for Arenas de Getxo, and Sergio Camacho played a key role in UD Logroñés’ victory.

Álex Sancris

Álex Sancris was one of the key players in CD Leganés‘ 1-1 draw against Mallorca. The player, on loan from Getafe CF, had a great game and provided the assist for his team’s goal.

The move started on the left wing. Álex took on his defender, beat him, and sent a left-footed ball across the face of the defense. Álex Millán arrived to finish and score following a brilliant piece of play by Sancris.

Álex is a pacey winger who can play on either flank. He is highly skilled at dribbling and has a magic touch in both feet, as he showed in the build-up to the goal.

A product of the CD Leganés youth academy, he returns to the club where he grew up after playing in the First Division last season. He wants to prove once again that he is a complete game-changer in this category. And what better place to do it than Leganés.

José Luis Cortés

José Luis Cortés opened the scoring for Arenas de Getxo with an absolute screamer. He picked up a lay-off outside the area and, with the ball still bouncing, unleashed a sensational strike that flew into the net.

The Madrid-born striker is in his fourth consecutive season in Primera Federación, following spells at Rayo Majadahonda and Ponferradina. He has already scored 18 goals in the category. He is a clinical finisher. Fast when he has space ahead of him and powerful in tight quarters, he can get a shot off in an instant. This week he once again showed the powerful strike he possesses in his right foot.

It is the first goal of the season for José Luis and, surely, it won’t be the last. Keep working the way you do, because the reward always comes. You’re a top player.

Rubén Torres

Rubén Torres showed his character once again in Arenas de Getxo’s victory. He took the responsibility of the penalty and didn’t miss. His goal was the second and final strike of the match.

A right-winger who can play on both flanks, Rubén has a great ability to beat his man, good striking ability with both feet, and a real eye for goal. This season he already has two goals and one assist.

At just 24 years old, he has experience in Primera Federación, a category where he played a major role with Rayo Majadahonda. Last season he scored no fewer than 11 goals and provided six assists with the Getafe CF reserve team.

Keep showing what a fantastic footballer you are, Rubi. It makes us very happy to see you enjoying your football.

Sergio Camacho

Sergio Camacho, left-back and captain of UD Logroñés, has become one of the leaders of the Riojan side at just 24 years old. His start to the season has been extraordinary, and he proved it again this weekend in the 1-3 victory against Real Avilés. After nine matchdays, the team sits in second place with 20 points.

Camacho provided great defensive solidity and showed all his class in attack. He has great technical quality, keeps the play moving, and is a constant threat when he overlaps on the wing thanks to his excellent left foot.

Last season he scored three goals, and this year he is confirming what a great footballer he is. If anyone deserves this great start to the campaign, it’s you, Sergio. For your tenacity and for everything you’ve worked for to get here.
