Spanish forward Jesús Jiménez signs with Kerala Blasters in a major move

Our sensational footballer, Jesús Jiménez Núñez (Leganés, 11/05/1993), has become the newest player for Kerala Blasters FC in India.

Coming from OFI Crete, where he played the last 6 months after arriving from Dallas, Jesús joins the Indian Super League to become one of the team’s offensive mainstays. As a second striker, he stands out for his strong physical presence and speed. Jesús is a game-changing player in the attacking zone, capable of performing as a winger on his weaker foot, thanks to his refined technique and dribbling skills.

With excellent precision in his ball striking, Jesús is a player who guarantees solid numbers in both goals and assists. We are confident he will deliver in his new team.

A brief overview of his successful career takes us back to his beginnings in the youth ranks of CD Leganés, followed by his time at Talavera, where he began to excel, leading the team to promotion to the Segunda División B and scoring 25 goals that season. In the same division, he became one of the top scorers that year, netting 13 goals, which earned him a move to Poland with Górnik Zabrze. In this club, Jesús Jiménez made history with his outstanding performance over more than 100 matches, scoring 50 goals, which made him one of the stars of the Ekstraklasa.

Jesús Jiménez had already become an excellent player, and if we look at some of his characteristics, it is important to highlight that he is a very dynamic and well-rounded forward, with great skill on the ball and the ability to break down opposing defenses with his dribbling.

Jesús is capable of scoring all types of goals as he masters every aspect of the game. He is powerful in aerial play thanks to his jumping ability, is very fast in running to space, and enjoys providing assists to his teammates, as he has a great ability to drift to the wing and deliver precise crosses from there.

Jesús is able to showcase all of this in every match, which led Toronto FC to sign him. There, he shared the locker room with players like Lorenzo Insigne, Federico Bernardeschi, and Criscito. In his first season in Toronto, he was the top scorer, netting 11 goals in 38 matches, and it was with this team that he won the Canadian Championship. In the following season, Jesús was transferred to Dallas, where he suffered an ankle injury that kept him sidelined for several weeks, limiting his appearances that season. From there, he made the leap back to Europe, this time to OFI Crete in Greece, where he played the last 6 months, before moving to the Indian Super League with his signing for Kerala Blasters FC.

Procedente del OFI de Creta, donde ha jugado los últimos 6 meses y al que llegó desde Dallas, Jesús aterriza en la Liga India para convertirse en uno de los puntales ofensivos del equipo. Como segundo punta, destaca por su gran presencia física y velocidad. Jesús es un jugador desequilibrante en la zona de ataque, capaz de desempeñarse también como extremo a pierna cambiada, gracias a su depurada técnica y habilidad en el regate.

Con una magnífica precisión en el golpeo del balón, Jesús representa a un jugador que garantiza buenos números en cuanto a goles y asistencias se refiere. Estamos seguros de que dará buena cuenta de ello en su nuevo equipo.

Un breve recorrido por su exitosa trayectoria nos lleva a sus comienzos en las categorías inferiores del CD Leganés, pasando por el Talavera, donde comenzó a despuntar logrando ese año el ascenso a Segunda División B, anotando 25 goles. Fue en esta misma categoría donde se convirtió en uno de los máximos goleadores del año al firmar 13 goles, lo que le sirvió como pasaporte para su fichaje en Polonia por el Górnik Zabrze. En este club, Jesús Jiménez hizo historia gracias a su magnífico trabajo durante más de 100 partidos, en los que anotó 50 goles, lo que le catapultó como una de las estrellas de la Ekstraklasa.

Jesús Jiménez ya se había convertido en un excelente jugador, y si repasamos algunas de sus características, es importante destacar que es un delantero muy dinámico y completo en todos los aspectos, con mucha calidad en sus pies y capaz de desequilibrar con su desborde a las defensas rivales.

Jesús es capaz de marcar goles de todo tipo, ya que domina todos los registros. Es poderoso en el juego aéreo gracias a su potencia de salto, es un jugador muy potente en carrera para jugar al espacio y disfruta sirviendo asistencias a sus compañeros, ya que tiene mucha capacidad para caer a la banda y ofrecer servicios muy precisos desde allí.

Todo esto, Jesús es capaz de plasmarlo en cada partido, lo que hizo que el Toronto FC lo fichara. Allí compartió vestuario con jugadores como Lorenzo Insigne, Federico Bernardeschi o Criscito. En su primera temporada en Toronto, fue el máximo goleador, anotando 11 goles en 38 partidos. Fue precisamente en este equipo donde se proclamó ganador del Campeonato Canadiense. En la siguiente temporada, Jesús fue traspasado a Dallas, donde sufrió una lesión de tobillo que lo mantuvo sin jugar durante semanas, pudiendo disputar un menor número de partidos esa temporada. Desde allí, dio el salto de nuevo a Europa, esta vez al OFI Creta griego, donde ha jugado los últimos 6 meses y desde donde se incorpora esta temporada a la Liga India con su fichaje por el Kerala Blasters FC.
